Honey, I'm home...

The past week has been beautiful and it is beginning to look like summer has finally arrived. I wanted to see what was up with the Hives, especially the hive that i combined the swarm with and was without fresh brood until last week. I was surprised to find that there was a lot more capped honey and nectar ready to be capped.  In the 2 boxes there must have been 10 of the 20 frames with honey and the super on top had about 4  and a half frames of capped honey. Here are some pics [caption id="attachment_372" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Honey"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_373" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Honey and Nectar"][/caption] I was a little concerned as the brood pattern was a bit spotty and the bottom box still had a good amount of frames with empty cells and no eggs.  There was eggs sighted on the top box and the bottom box so there is a queen and she is laying. The frames that had brood on them previous from the swarming are now being filled with nectar. There must be a flow on as the frames have filled up quite a bit since last inspection. The #2 hive was rocking a lot more capped brood than #1 hopefully because it was 3 weeks ahead of it and had a laying queen the whole time.  I am worried though as i did see some queen cups like previously just before they swarmed. I don't think they are wanting for space but this queen is a laying machine!
